Overview
This training will examine the tools, methods and best practices used by experts to effectively prevent workplace violence and safely intervene when it erupts. Discover causes of workplace violence, how to identify the potentially violent individual or employee, how de-escalate dangerous individuals, and when and where to get help.
Employers have a moral duty to provide a safe workplace for their employees. They also have statutory obligations under federal and state law to provide and promote a safe and violence-free work environment. This learning event will provide supervisors, managers, and organizational decision-makers the information they need to protect their employees and their organization's assets.

Examine the true nature and scope of the problem and learn what type of individual is involved and why. Examine the many myths and misunderstandings about workplace violence and its causes. Learn to understand and recognize the common motivators and inhibitors.

10:00am - Predicting Dangerousness & Violence Potentials through Violence Risk Assessment
Learn how to identify the potentially violent or at-risk individual. Examine the profile of both the victim and target organization. Learn to identify escalating behaviors and triggering events and de-escalate when necessary.

12:30pm - Intervention and Prevention Management
Closely examine the concept of threat management and threat management team building. Learn how to effectively intervene and prevent workplace violence. Learn how to develop and implement a viable workplace violence prevention policy. Find out when and where to get help when necessary. Most importantly„olearn how to avoid litigation and liability through the use of better processes and best practices.
2:00pm - Practical Exercise and Course Review
Participate in a fascinating practical exercise using facts, documents and evidence from an actual case. Learn how to investigate the allegations, collect evidence and prepare a case for disciplinary proceedings or criminal prosecution. PE will include team-building exercise and post-incident debriefing. A brief course review will then tie it all together and conclude the event.
